About Me

I have been fascinated by holistic therapies and the power of the mind for many years, and following my own positive experiences of certain techniques, I decided to train formally in Hypnotherapy.

I am a fully qualified and Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist (GHR Affil.) and an Affiliate Member of the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. Hypnotherapy is a self-regulating industry, so professional organisations exist to promote integrity and good practice. Being such a member, I follow professional codes of conduct, to reassure my clients that I take my responsibilities seriously. I commit to having regular clinical supervision, keeping my training up to date and further increase my skills and knowledge on a continual basis.

I am fully insured with both Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance. Please feel free to ask should you wish to see my Clinical Diploma or any of my other credentials.

Specialist Interests

Being a woman, wife and mother myself, I feel able to relate personally to many of the health issues and problems experienced particularly by women.

In our modern, technology-laden world, it is easy to become overwhelmed by what is expected of us, not only at work but on a personal level, aswell.

We all develop coping mechanisms which, sometimes, are not beneficial to our health, such as alcohol dependancy.

It can be a relief to realise that we all have the power to overcome these difficulties, and adapt our behaviour to create more helpful ways of dealing with the stresses and strains of our busy lives.

'What the mind thinks, the body feels'

You may not realise just how powerful your mind can be. Every thought that we have, good or bad, gives rise to an emotion, and in turn, that emotion creates a physical response.  If we have negative thoughts and feelings, over time this can impact on our actual physical health.  Sometimes, we may experience physical ailments that we don't realise are actually rooted in our stress or anxiety levels.

Allow me the opportunity to guide you on your voyage to greater resilience.

Some of the areas I can assist you with are listed below, but if you are experiencing a problem of some other nature , please don't hesitate to contact me. Clinical hypnotherapy can be effective for almost any challenge that you might be experiencing.

All enquiries, of course, are treated with the strictest confidence and with no obligation.

Hypnotherapy is also very effective when used with children, usually over the age of 6.  They have vivid imaginations and are keen and open to beneficial suggestion.  It is particularly good for dealing with anxieties or phobias, as often these difficulties are established in childhood.

You may also just need a little extra time for yourself to enjoy a deep relaxation session to recharge your batteries.

Good for unborn babies, too!

Real Life Testimonials

Hi Deborah

(Carole had been suffering from a phobia of the sea for many years,  and wanted to be free to enjoy her summer holidays on the family boat without anxiety).

As promised I am dropping you a line now that I am on the boat to let you know what effect my treatment has had.  At the beginning of my journey I did an overnight ferry crossing and I was not anxious at all.  Having said that I was not overly anxious on these trips, but both my husband and I felt there was improvement but I wanted to be on the boat at sea to see the full result.  I then found myself at port looking out to sea and to the very big amusement of my husband I said that I found looking at the sea relaxing!

I could not believe I said that so started to think that my attitude had changed, or I had been possessed by an alien!

Since then I have been at sea for two days, completely relaxed and taking it in my stride.  I think you have worked miracles.  We have not had challenging weather yet but if that goes well, I shall write to the queen to get you a medal.

Thank you so much, Deborah, for your help.  After many years of torturous sea going, you have improved my summers.  I will be recommending you to all my friends.

Dear Deborah

I just wanted you to know how grateful I am for your help with the problem I had of biting and chewing my lips. It was a habit that had developed over many years and it is such a relief to not want to do it anymore!

I'm not sure how you did it!  But it has saved me from the acute embarrassment it used to cause.  Thankyou!

I would recommend Deborah to anyone.  Being a senior citizen, I had lost some of my motivation and confidence in doing the things I enjoyed, and felt tired all the time.  I had 8 sessions, and my zest for life has returned!

I am once again getting out and enjoying things again like I used to.

With many thanks.

I wish to thank Deborah for all her help and support.

I have had fibromyalgia for years, relying on countless medications to ease my pain and fatigue.

Hypnotherapy has been very effective for that pain, and I have been able to greatly reduce my pain-killers and anti-depressants.

I shall continue to come for regular visits until such time I reach my goal of coming off these tablets altogether.

I came to see Deborah following a period of chronic illness and stress in my life.  I was experiencing debilitating physical symptoms, such as shortness of breath, dizziness, weakness in my limbs and IBS on a daily basis.

Medical tests revealed nothing, and a friend suggested hypnotherapy.  I was sceptical, to say the least, but Deborah immediately put me at ease, and even after just 1 session, I felt more positive.

I had a run of visits and I began to get improvement of my symptoms, which turned out to be anxiety, panic attacks, and depression.  I couldn't believe the difference they made.

Deborah provided me with a couple of recordings to listen to at home each day, and I am feeling more like myself again.  She has taught me that how you think affects the way that you feel, which in turn affects your physical health.  Hypnotherapy has changed the way that I look at things, and I would recommend sessions with Deborah without hesitation.

I would urge others who may be unsure about this kind of therapy to seriously consider it.  It has worked for me!
